Today, we’ll dive into one of the most important parts of Microsoft Word – the Ribbon.
The Ribbon is the set of toolbars at the top of the Word window that helps you quickly access features.

🔹 What is the Ribbon?
The Ribbon is divided into different Tabs (like Home, Insert, Design, Layout, References, etc.). Each tab contains related commands grouped together.

🔹 Key Tabs in the Ribbon:

  1. Home Tab – Contains the most commonly used commands (font, paragraph, clipboard).

  2. Insert Tab – Allows you to add tables, pictures, shapes, charts, headers, and footers.

  3. Design Tab – Provides themes, styles, and document formatting options.

  4. Layout Tab – Helps in adjusting margins, orientation, page size, and spacing.

  5. References Tab – Used for citations, footnotes, bibliography, and table of contents.

🔹 Activity / Practice:

  • Open Microsoft Word and explore each Tab on the Ribbon.

  • Try changing the font using the Home tab.

  • Insert a picture using the Insert tab.

  • Change page orientation using the Layout tab.
